LUMBOGHINI MIERA

Found pics of this car while stumbling around the internet. It is a remake of their original, which had its production run from 1966 to 1972. The original was a mid-engined, rear wheel drive 4 Liter V-12 powered monster. Although the V-12 engines of that era were not as potent as they are in this day and age, it still output 345 horsepower, and in a 2100 pound vehicle this thing moved pretty well.

Fast forward to 2006 and you’ll see that Lamborghini has not really tried to improve upon the legendary shape of the original Miura, but they have modernized it quite nicely. In 2006, Lambo had only hinted that they might put it into production, but there’s a chance that we’ll see it in 2009. Gander at the pics below; which do you like more, the original or the new concept?

Lamborghini Gallardo

With a retail price of $165,900, Lamborghini Gallardo is a 2-door, 2-passenger luxury sports car.

The Italians love curves on their women and their cars, and the futuristic-looking Gallardo is no exception. The extreme curves on the roof make the car look like it could fire off the line at any moment.

Mercedes-Benz SLR

With a hefty price of $418,000 and a sleek, retro design, the Mercedes SLR has a hand-built 5.5-liter V8 engine, pumping out over 600 horsepower and, according to Mercedes, can go from 0 to 60 in 3.8 seconds, with a top speed of 207 miles per hour.

The sheer speed on tap in the SLR is great, but better still is its use of Formula 1 technology, notably in the body. The SLR is made of carbon fiber composite, strengthening it and providing a safer ride for the driver.

Koenigsegg CRR

On February the 28th 2005, at 12.08 local time, the Koenigsegg CCR broke the production road car speed record, achieving a new official top speed of 387.87 km/h (242.14 mph) at Italy’s Nardo Prototipo proving ground.

With this verification of speed, Christian von Koenigsegg is even more confident that the Koenigsegg CCR is capable of reaching its projected top speed of 395 km/h, or more, in a straight line.

Driver Loris Bicocchi was very impressed by the performance of the car. He feels happy to finally prove the performance of the Koenigsegg. “This test was very important for the customers and owners of Koenigsegg cars. It proves that their belief and faith in the small Koenigsegg Company was well founded”
